The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly Funminiyi Afuye, is dead.
Afuye’s demise was announced by Lere Olayinka, a former aide to former Governor of the State, Ayodele Fayose, on his verified facebook timeline.
Afuye died on Wednesday evening, a week to his daughter's wedding.
Olayinka wrote, “RIP. Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye, Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly.”
He did not give further details.
One of the social media users who commented on the post, Folake Flakkyfaj, revealed that a daughter to the deceased Speaker was billed for her weeding this Saturday.
Others who commented on the post also revealed that the deceased Speaker was on an inspection with the new Governor of the State, ‘Biodun Oyebanji, shortly before he was reported dead.
Oyetoki Wale Oluwatobi wrote, “Unbelievable…a man who went on inspection with the governor today.”
Oluyemi John Akindele also wrote, “Sebi he went on inspection with the Governor today, what may happen (sics) to him? Anyway, rest on…”
