A twenty five years old man, identified as Banji Adebayo fell inside the well in Omuaran, Irepodun local government area of Kwara state early Monday morning and died.
It was gathered that the sad incident happened at about 5.30am when the victim wanted to fetch water from the deep well to bath.
Neighbours said one of Banji's legs mistakenly slipped and he reportedly fell into the deep well.
It was further gathered that before other residents could approach the well, about twenty minutes after, Banji had already died.
It was further gathered that it was when efforts by other residents to rescue him failed that officers of Fire Service in Omuaran were alerted.
The officers reportedly raced to the scene of the incident and brought out the victim from the well dead.
When contacted, Spokesman of Kwara State, Akeem Adekunle confirmed the incident.
" Firemen were able to recover the dead body from the well and later handed it over to one Alhaji Abdulkareem, a family member of the deceased, in the present of the Nigerian Police Officers." he said.
