Catholic Priest kidnapped in Jos





The Parish Priest of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Angware, Jos East local government area of Plateau State, Rev. Fr. James Kantoma has been kidnapped.

The Priest who is also the Chairman of  Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN of Jos East was reportedly abducted in his home in the early hours of Monday.

 A source said he was abducted at about 1 am and no communication has been made yet.

The State Police Command and the CAN Chairman of the State, Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo have confirmed the incident.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alabo Alfred said "As it is now, our men are in the bush, the DPO and the Anti-kidnapping unit are there working assiduously to get us the result. We cannot preempt them, we need to get the right information so that we don't mislead the public."

The State CAN Chairman added, "I am aware of the incident, I was called that he was kidnapped. Security men are in the bush to see if they can help him out. So far, there is no call, no communication as we speak but we pray for his safe return."
