No fewer than three persons lost their lives, while one person sustained injury in an early morning multiple road crash which occured on Friday, on the Ogun State axis of Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
The incident, which occurred around DANCO area at about 5.25am, involved a MAN containerized truck with number plate T8943 LA, an unidentified HOWO truck, IVECO Flat body with number plate SSU 517 XA laden with beer and a SINO truck with number plate T8953LA laden with granite all have nine occupants on board.
The fatalities were three males while one male was injured during the accident.
as confirmed by the spokesperson, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps TRACE, Babatunde Akinbiyi.
According to eyewitnesses' account, the MAN Diesel containerized, due to overspeeding, lost control and overturned, with two other vehicles ramming into it from the rear.
It was learnt that due to the timing of the crash, they also approached the crash scene with excessive speed.
The presumed bodies were recovered and deposited at Idera Hospital while the injured victim had been rescued before the arrival of the rescue team.
Also, the accidented trucks were towed to the nearest Police station for further investigations.
