An Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) suspected to have been planted by suspected terrorists have killed one person while several other sustained various degree of injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in stepped on the substances along Pulka-Kirawa road in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

Sources said, the incident took place on Thursday, but the injured ones were conveyed to a public hospital for treatment in Maiduguri on Friday.

This incident is coming barely 48 hours after another IEDs planted along Biu-Damboa road killed a Deputy Commander of Civilian Civilian Joint Task Force, Late Saidu Maliya, with five others injured after their patrol vehicle stepped on the IEDs.

Relative of one of the injured ones who resides in Maiduguri, but did not want his name mentioned told our Correspondent that he received a distress call that one of his brother who is a victim has been admitted in Maiduguri hospital for treatment.

"Yes one of my brother was among the casualties of the EIDs that killed one person along Pulka-Kirawa road.

"Unfortunately, a woman in Pulka who mistakenly heard that her son was among the casualties, instantly developed heart attack and died yesterday, even though, it was later confirmed that the name of the deceased corresponded with her son who also travelled on that road same day". He narrated.
