Gunmen on Christmas eve have killed a Catholic Priest of Abeokuta Diocese, Rev. Fr. Luke Adeleke.
It was gathered that late Fr. Adeleke was attacked by gunmen while he was returning from an outstation, where he had gone to say Christmas eve Mass.
Until his untimely death, Fr. Adeleke was the Parish Priest of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Ijemo-Fadipe and Chaplain of the Itesi Deanery Laity Council.
A post on social media titled, "ABEOKUTA Grieves!", read, "It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform us of the demise of our dear priest, brother and friend, Rev. Fr. Luke Adeleke ( the chaplain of Itesi Deanery laity Council)"
"He was on his way home after the Mass at an outstation when was attacked by some gunmen and shot dead".
Late Rev. Fr. Adeleke was ordained Catholic priest on August 19, 2017.
His remains had been deposited at Sacred Heart Catholic Hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta.
