Abiodun bags grassroot development award

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has received Grassroot Development Award from the people of Ojowo-Ijebu in Ijebu North Local Government Area of the State, for his numerous people-oriented strides. 

 Receiving the award on behalf of Governor Abiodun at the year 2021 Olokine Day celebration in Ojowo-Ijebu, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi appreciated the monarch and the people for the recognition, saying the honor would spur the honoree to do more life-transforming projects and programmes.

 "On behalf of the government and good people of the State, I want to thank the Kabiyesi and the people of Ojowo-Ijebu for this award. 

 This is necessitated by our achievements on massive youth empowerment, sustainable agriculture programmes, as well as efforts in achieving qualitative education, and many others", he stated.

 Speaking, the Olokine of Ojowo-Ijebu, Oba Abdulrasheed Banjo said decision of the community to honor Governor Abiodun was due to his numerous feats recorded in the area of infrastructural development, particularly the approval and release of 200-hectares of arable land for the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme and establishment of a Microfinance bank, as well as the renovation of four public schools.

 In his remark, the Chairman, Ijebu-North Local Government, Mr. Bolaji Odusanya congratulated Kabiyesi on his second year in office and assured of the council's commitment towards the development of the area. Talabi alongside the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina, also received awards at the event. Goke Oyebade
