Akinlade mourns General Olurin,describes him as illustrious son of Yewaland

Federal Commissioner, Federal Character Commission ,Hon. Abiodun Akinlade has mourned General Adetunji Idowu Olurin,former Governor of Oyo State who passed on yesterday.

 In a statement signed by the Federal Commissioner himself,he said,"Gen. Olurin was one of the finest and illustrious sons of Yewaland."His death is a big loss to us in Ogun State in particular and Yewaland in general".

 "However, we take solace in the fact that he came, he saw and he conquered. He dutifully put Yewaland in the world map with the exceptional and professional manner by which he carried out his assignment as ECOMOG Commandant."Akinlade said.

 The former member of the House of Representatives said that ,"through dedication, steadfastness and commitment, General Olurin served the nation in different capacities both within and outside the shores of the country."

 "As a retired military head, politician, community leader, his usual contribution to the service of our dear state and the nation will surely be missed".

 He described the deceased "as ECOMOG commander and Military administrator of repute, General Olurin's participation in politics was an indication of his desire to contribute his quota to the development of our dear state and Nigeria in general."

 Hon Akinlade joined other sympathisers to commiserate with the Nigerian Army and his immediate family over the death of a legendary soldier, and illustrious son who has brought glory and pride through selfless service. 

 He consoled that from God we have all come and to him we shall all return to give accounts of all our deeds, praying that Almighty Allah forgive his sins and console his immediate and extended family, associates, and the good people of Yewaland and Ogun State.
