Abiodun urges Obaladi,Olu Imasayi to mobilise subjects for Government support

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has urged the new Obaladi of Afon, Oba Babade Rasheed Lateef to continually mobilise the people of Afon Community to support government in its drive to make living more abundant for residents of different parts of the State.

 This is just as he tasked the new Olu of Imasayi, Oba Lukman Olalekan Kuoye to be accessible, accommodating and responsive to the needs of his people who gave him the mandate and their support. 

Governor Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape made these calls in his messages at the installation and presentation of Staff of Office of the two traditional rulers in Afon in Imeko-Afon and Imasayi in Yewa North Local Government Areas of the State respectively. 

 Speaking at the ceremony in Afon, the governor submitted that when citizens perform their responsibilities, such as prompt payment of taxes and levies, it becomes easier for the government to execute beneficial projects for the people. 

 Appreciating the citizens for their cooperation so far, the State's Helmsman assured that his administration would not relent in meeting the needs of the people, especially, in the areas of health, infrastructure, and education, among others. 

 Also, at Imasayi, the Governor enjoined Oba Kuoye to always champion efforts that would enhance peaceful co-existence among his people and improve the socio-economic status of the community.

 “I want to implore you as the new Oba to lead every activity that could improve the socio-economic status of your community, make effort to boost peaceful co-existence among your people and Yewaland”, 

Abiodun said. In their respective welcome addresses, the Chairman, Imeko-Afon Local Government, Hon. Yayah Fadipe and his Yewa North Local Government counterpart, Hon. Ogunyomi Gabriel appreciated the State government for its developmental strides, urging their people to continue to co-exist peacefully.

 On his part, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, represented by Olofin of Ado-Odo, Oba Abdulateef Akanni, underscored the need for the people to cooperate with the new monarchs for speedy growth and development, saying “a town where there is no peace will not experience progress and expected development”

 In his acceptance speech, Oba Babade who expressed gratitude to the Governor for the opportunity to serve his people, pledged his unwavering loyalty and commitment to the government and called on indigenes to contribute their quota to the rapid progress of the town. 

 Oba Kuoye on his part assured that he would use his position to unite his people and seek for means to improve the lots of the land. Sakirudeen Bashiru & Oluwakemi Faleti,
