Why TEE-CLOTHIERS Fashion House Is Trending With OBA L’ADE Series, Says Aruna, Founder/Creative Director

A popular fashion house , TEE-CLOTHIERS, located at Sabo area of Yaba is the rave of the moment currently in Lagos. The Founder and Creative Director, an Economics graduate turned Fashion Designer, Mr Oluwatosin David Aruna, in an interview, explains what his firm does differently when it comes to dress sense and why he is popularizing the Oba L'ade style.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share my latest collection with fashion-savvy Nigerians. It is a culmination of months of hard work, creativity, and dedication. This collection is inspired by the concept of juxtaposition, where contrasting elements are harmoniously blended to create a unique aesthetic.

"One of the key themes in this collection is the fusion of traditional and contemporary elements. I wanted to pay homage to classic silhouettes and craftsmanship techniques while infusing them with modern twists. The collection features beautifully tailored pieces with unexpected details, such as intricate hand-made embroidery on sleek, minimalistic designs. I believe this juxtaposition creates a captivating visual experience for the wearer.

"The collections are called OBA L’ADE; the idea for the name came from Yoruba heritage. In terms of colours, I drew inspiration from nature and vibrant urban landscapes. You'll find a mix of rich earth tones like deep greens and warm browns, contrasted with bold pops of vibrant blues and fiery reds. These color choices were carefully selected to evoke a sense of both tranquility and excitement.

"We came up with three distinct colors for the collections; Navy blue, Coffee Brown and Yellow. Fabric selection played a crucial role in bringing this collection to life. I focused on sourcing sustainable and ethically produced materials, such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and innovative eco-friendly textiles.

"By prioritizing responsible sourcing, I aim to contribute to a more sustainable fashion industry. Functionality was also a significant consideration in the design process. Each garment in the collection is thoughtfully constructed with attention to detail and wearability.

"From versatile separates that can be mixed and matched to transitional pieces that seamlessly transition from day to night, the collection offers versatility and practicality without compromising style.

"I am incredibly proud of the team that worked tirelessly to bring this collection to fruition. Their dedication and passion are evident in every stitch and detail. I can't wait to see how our customers embrace and interpret these designs in their own unique ways. Overall, this collection represents my ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and timeless style. I hope it resonates with individuals who appreciate the beauty of contrast, appreciate quality craftsmanship, and share my vision for a more sustainable fashion future."
