The lifeless body of a yet-to-be identified man was on Tuesday found in a brothel, where he allegedly lodged with a commercial sex worker in Bayelsa State.
According to sources, the deceased aged 38, from Delta State, was a stroke patient.
He was said to have visited the brothel located along the Tombia-Amassoma road around 8am when he met his untimely death.
The body was reportedly found naked in one of the rooms where all the commercial sex workers at the brothel were said to have fled before the arrival of the police.
It was learned that security operatives had in the past raided the brothel.
Contacted, Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Musa Muhammed, confirmed the unfortunate incident.
He said: "the command received a distress call from a caller that an average man of about 38 years was found dead naked in one of the rooms in a brothel along Tombia-Amassoma road in the state Bayelsa State capital.
"The control room immediately despatched Ekeki Patrol which was headed by the DPO to the scene of crime.
"Upon arrival they discovered the subject lying dead on the bed. All occupants of the brothel fled before the arrival of the police team.
"The deceased corpse was evacuated and deposited at the morgue of Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa for autopsy.
"Preliminary investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the man."
