'Agoro’; Tallest man in Nigeria, dies at 48

 





Tallest man in Nigeria, Afeez Agoro died in the early hours of Thursday, after he was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday following a health complication.

Agoro, whose name became a popular pseudonym for tall people in Nigeria, died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) at age 48.


According to reports, he died of an ailment called Acromegaly, which he seems to have been battling with for sometime.

It was gathered that he recently had a hip operation as a result of hip arthritis, which was successful.

His last post of Facebook on 28th May, reads: “Thank God Almighty for a successful operation now it’s time for therapy.”

Before his death, he was 7ft 4″ tall, thus, earning him the title of the tallest man in Nigeria.

Residents of his community in Akoka, family and well wishers have started sending tributes, describing his death as “a great loss.”
